FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the ingredients in the perming solutions?
Perm Lotion (solution): Auqa (water), Thioglycollic Acid, monoethanolamine, Carbomer, DMDM Hydantoin, Ponceau SX, Lavender Essential oil.
Setting Lotion (solution): Aqua (water), Sodium Bromate, Polyoxyethylene Cetyl Ether, DMDM Hydantoin, Acid Blue 9, Lavender Essential Oil.
Is Lash perming a FDA approved service?
The FDA has not yet granted approval to the products used to perm eyelashes, even though there have been few documented cases of severe injury after an eyelash perm. The FDA still feels that placing perming solution near the eyes poses a danger to someone undergoing an eyelash perm. However, this risk is not yet strong enough for the FDA to pull the product from the market, and since FDA approval is not required for cosmetic products, eyelash perming is readily available. Skin Camp requires each client to sign a waiver.
What is the brand name of the color used in the lash & brow tint?
Berrywell cream tint from Germany is the leading European seller. More intense than Refectocil, Berrywell dye creates luscious eyelashes and eyebrows safely and effectively.
How do I care for my newly permed lashes?
You should not wash your eye area for 24 hours after the treatment to allow the process to set. Avoid direct sunlight. Be easy on your lashes, the less you touch, rub or scrub them the better. The less makeup you apply, the longer the perm will last.
How do I care for my newly tinted lashes?
Caring for your tinted lashes is easy. Avoid rubbing the eye area and eye make-up for the first 8 hrs following your tint. Direct sunlight can fade the color. Use mild soap, avoid make-up removers.
How much will my skin actually peel after receiving a peel?
You may or may not actually peel. Each case is individual. The amount of peeling does not correlate with the degree of improvement. If peeling does occur, it is very light peeling or flaking. See photos for examples. (Click on photo for larger view)
How much discomfort should be expected during a peel?
The level of discomfort experienced depends on the treatment. Most PCA Skin chemical peels are gentle and create minimal to no burning or stinging sensations in the skin. Dramatic wrinkling, sun damage or acne scars may require a deeper peel, which may cause moderate stinging for a few minutes. Deep peels are not necessary for most skin types and conditions. PCA Skin’s superficial peels create and produce beautiful and immediate results with minimal discomfort for the majority of patients.
Should people who are frequently in the sun receive peels?
Yes, but ONLY if they use sunscreen protection every day. Sunbathing should be avoided prior to treatment, directly following a treatment, and while the skin is peeling. If you are receiving peel treatments to reduce skin discoloration (hyperpigmentation), it is imperative to use the appropriate PCA Skin skin-brightening products as well as broad-spectrum sun protection moisturizer daily, and avoid unnecessary sun exposure to reduce the chance of further hyperpigmentation.
Will a chemical peel make thin skin even thinner?
No. Having a PCA Skin chemical peel will remove surface buildup, hydrate the skin and give it a plumber, “thicker” appearance. The use of topical vitamin C, retinol and peptide products in a treatment, as well as in a daily care regimen, will help build the collagen and elastin network in the skin, thus making it stronger and more durable.
Are there any treatments that are good for rosacea?
Yes. I have several options to help control rosacea. PCA Skin’s gentle TCA and lactic acid blends are wonderful choices for rosacea. Ultra Peel I and Sensi Peel all fight bacteria, reduce inflammation and help promote healthy skin. Rosacea is best controlled with a combination of medical therapies, including in-office treatments, daily care products and lifestyle considerations. Heat is an enemy of rosacea – stay cool!
What does Oxygen do for the skin?
Without oxygen, all cells will die almost immediately, including skin cells. As we age, our bodies, and especially our skin, lose their ability to retain and utilize oxygen for normal metabolic (formation of new cells) processes. Add to this, the effects of stress, pollution, smoking, poor diet and lack of exercise and you have a serious oxygen deficiency in the skin.
By targeting the deep dermal layer of the skin where new skin cells form and eventually rise to the surface, the ECHO2PLUSTM Oxygen Treatment System places over 180,000,000 oxygen molecules per second into this critical area. Here, the oxygen molecules attach themselves to the red blood cells, as well as the collagen and elastin fibers to stimulate production of healthy new cells and to increase the strength and suppleness of the skin.
How does the ECHO2Plus system help the skin?
This unique skin treatment program uses 87 different vitamins, minerals, Amino acids, and oxygen, to moisturize and revitalize every cell of the facial skin. Because oxygen is introduced to the skin at the cellular level, it bonds to red blood cells, providing additional strength to the collagen and elastin fibers, which in turn will helps improve the elasticity of the skin.
What skin types and conditions are helped by the ECHO2Plus system?
The ECHO2PLUSTM Skin Treatment System is designed for ALL skin types, including:
* Light to Dark Skin Tones
* Young & Old
* Dry To Oily Skin Types
* Individuals using Retin-A (with physician’s approval)
* Individuals using Microdermabraison
* Individuals using Facial Toning
* Individuals using Alpha-Hydroxy, Glycolic Acid, and Chemical Peels
* Pre and Post Op for Laser Resurfacing (with physician’s approval)
* Pre and Post Op for Plastic Surgery (with physician’s approval)
* Male and Female
Is the ECHO2Plus system safe?
Yes. All of the ingredients used in the ECHO2PlusTM Skin Treatment System are natural and are free of by-products. The sub-micronic delivery system used exclusively in the ECHO2PlusTM Skin Treatment is designed to allow the safe passage of Oxygen, vitamins and minerals into the epidermal junction. The ECHO2PlusTM Skin Treatment System is an entirely hypoallergenic system.
Why is Oxygen so important for my skin?
Oxygen is responsible for the health and maintenance of every cell in the human body including skin cells. In addition, oxygen deprivation is a major contributing factor in skin aging (appearance of fine lines and wrinkles). Because the ECHO2PlusTM Skin Treatment System introduces oxygen to the skin at the cellular level, it assists in improving the strength of collagen and elastin fibers.
How often should I have an ECHO2Plus system facial?
In order to receive the full benefit of your ECHO2PlusTM Skin Treatment, a 4-3-2-1 program is recommended. That is, 4 treatments the first month, 3 treatments the second month, 2 treatments the third month and one treatment per month thereafter.
Can I wear make-up after my ECHO2Plus system facial?
After your ECHO2PlusTM Skin Treatment, it is best to refrain from applying make-up for up to 45 minutes. This will allow ample time for completing the hydration of your skin, as well as providing adequate time for the initial effects of the oxygen to take place in the cells of the skin.
Can I use the ECHO2Plus system if I am a smoker?
Yes! Smoking decreases the oxygen in the skin by increasing carbon monoxide levels in an individual’s skin. A smoker will find his or her skin dehydrated and ashy. Replacing oxygen in skin cells eliminates carbon monoxide for a short period of time, but a smoker would have to eliminate the smoking habit from his or her daily life in order to retain normal amounts of oxygen in the cells. It is recommended that smokers refrain from smoking for 45 minutes after the treatment. It should be noted that smoking causes a decrease in the molecular binding capacity of the oxygen molecule in the presence of Carbon Monoxide (CO) and will therefore lessen the beneficial effects of the treatment.
Can I go out in the sun after having a ECHO2Plus system facial?
Yes. Immediate sun exposure is permitted as many of the vitamins used throughout the treatment process serve to protect the skin. However, it is encouraged to limit sun exposure. The sun is a major contributor to the destruction and aging of the skin.
What kind of results will I notice after my ECHO2Plus system facial?
You will notice a “tight” sensation of your facial skin after the initial treatment, though it will look and feel moist to the touch. This “tight” sensation indicates that the oxygen and other ingredients used in the ECHO2PlusTM Skin Treatment System have effectively reached the skin cells and are beginning the process of nourishing and revitalizing your skin, pore-by-pore.
Are professional products really that much different then over the counter products?
Most certainly YES!!! Professional skin care products have a higher percentage of performance ingredients than over the counter products. OTC products need to be benign enough for use by the “masses”. Professional products are recommended by licensed professionals, not someone behind a counter who needs to meet their sales quota for the day. In the long run, you will save money by not buying products that are not effective for your skin type.
What is your favorite eye cream and why?
Hands down, my favorite eye cream is Dr. Alkaitis’ Eye Creme. All Dr. Alkaitis’ products are biologically active meaning your skin will easily absorb it. You will see an immediate reduction of fine lines, and under-eye circles and puffiness. It is my favorite eye cream because it works with immediate results. No other eye cream I have found does the job like Dr. Alkaitis’ Eye Creme and I have tried them all! I supply and sell Dr. Alkaitis’ products. The organic eye creme is $60.00 for 1/2 oz and should last up to 3 months and is worth every penny!
